Life is a journey; one that should be enjoyed. In order to maximize your life and enjoy the journey you must be willing to play full-out each day. Not only do we fully engage in our work, we also allow ourselves to find fulfillment and enjoyment in every aspect of life. Let’s look at some tips to help you enjoy the journey, especially the one you are designing.
Life Coaching Can Help You Enjoy the Journey
One of the ways that you can learn to enjoy the journey of your life is to work with a life coach. Life coaching can help you enjoy your journey through becoming aware of your goals and clarifying them. As a life empowerment specialist I work with my clients to create the life they desire. Our sessions, usually last at least an hour. We meet in person or via the phone. We spend time helping the client to become fully aware of their goals in order to clarify and prioritize them. This usually leads to a deeper understanding of their thoughts, feelings, and options. Once they discover the answer to important questions my clients are better able to take the appropriate action steps to change their lives, accomplish their goals and feel more fulfilled. Eventually that will help them embark on a meaningful journey of both success and significance. This could culminate in them opening their own business, starting a non-profit or even finally breaking the glass-ceiling to get their coveted promotion.
I am working with a client who decided that she wanted to move into a new position. During our sessions she focused on becoming more aware of who she was and what she wanted. As a result of this she started to setting goals to move into her new position. She started a process of preparation for her promotion. She even began to dress for the position she was seeking. She adjusted her attitude to focus more on what was going right in her life instead of the disappointments. As a result she was recently promoted to a new position. She is enjoying her journey. You too can begin your journey with a life coach. I offer a complimentary, no-obligation, 30 minute life coaching session to help you experience the process. Tips to Enjoy the Journey
Discover the answer to significant questions such as:
Do you know when you are at your best? What gives meaning to your time off?
This quote by Earl Nightingale provides some insight:
We are at our very best, and we are happiest, when we are fully engaged in work we enjoy on the journey toward the goal we’ve established for ourselves. It gives meaning to our time off and comfort to our sleep. It makes everything else in life so wonderful, so worthwhile.
Set attainable goals for your life.
When you know what you are living for then you are able to determine what you should or should not do. Ask yourself the following questions? What do I do in my life each day that indicates I am serious about my work? How much time do I spend enjoying my life?
Sometimes we are so busy trying to get from one place to another we hardly notice our surrounding. We know that in our lives we will experience twists and turns. Sometimes we fall off course. Likewise this constant lack of focus will impact our relationships.
Protect the things that are most important to you, especially your relationships.
My husband and I have two adult children. We are both amazed at how quickly the years passed by. I remember taking the kids to the park. We would spend hours on the swings; laughing and enjoying life. Our journey together included the mundane exercises of doing homework, putting away dirty clothes and even preparing for bed. The mundane can be beautiful and a part of enjoying our journey. Honestly, I wouldn’t trade those times for anything.
I have learned that everything in my life is working towards fulfilling a meaningful journey. Each day I choose to enjoy my journey. Likewise you are living your life each moment of the day and night. Be careful that you are not wasting the moments. When I’m leading a workshop I like to remind my audience that we are spending time together that we cannot get back. Every minute we spend is non refundable.
So the greatest tip I have learned to help you enjoy your journey is to be fully present in the moment. Henri Frederic Amiel said:
Life is short and we have never too much time for gladdening the hearts of those who are traveling the dark journey with us. Oh be swift to love, make haste to be kind.
Open your heart to the full range of emotions in each experience. Don’t just eat food, enjoy the meal.
